Osama Bin Laden Is Dead

So, I know that this is a fashion blog. But on this monumental day in American history, I think it’s fair that I take some time out to discuss the death of Osama Bin Laden. If it helps, you’ll probably be seeing a lot of red, white, and blue in the near future, in honor of American patriotism.

As a college student in DC, it was a surreal experience to be in our nation’s capital when Obama addressed the country with the news that U.S. forces have killed Bin Laden. I watched the CNN news coverage in my dorm’s lounge with about 15 other people, and then I went down to the White House with some friends to witness the celebrations firsthand. 

The patriotism, nationalism, and pure support for America and our troops was incredible. The majority of the crowd was made up of college students, and though some were mistakenly there to party in the name of Osama’s death, most of the crowd was singing and cheering in honor of our nation’s ability to overcome and come out strong. 

Tonight celebrated the strength and fortitude of America. We were not celebrating our rival’s death, but rather our nation’s will to live.

Regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or gender, tonight we came together as nation to honor the courage of our soldiers and the strength of our nation. God Bless America.

Royal Wedding Fashion

I’ll admit - I didn’t wake up at 4:30 AM to watch the Royal Wedding coverage. I did, however, check out the highlights on youtube in the morning, and the first thing I did when I woke up was check Style.com and Styleite.com to find out who the designer of the famous wedding dress was. And, of course, check out the fashion photos.

For those of you who are like me, and feel that your level of interest in the royal wedding was somewhere between “excited, but not waking up at 4:30 AM” and “oooh, Alexander McQueen…fabulous!” this will probably be the perfect post for you.

Here, I present to you, the fashion highlights of the Royal Wedding; particularly bride Kate Middleton dressed in (Sarah Burton for) Alexander McQueen.

What Everyone Is Talking About

I’m a fashion blogger. So it’s pretty much inevitable that I do a post about the Royal Wedding. Right? Right.

Now, there’s one thing about me that, if you know me, might surprise you. I love celebrities, I love fashion, but for some reason, I don’t love watching awards shows. I love watching the red carpet pre-shows, but not the awards shows themselves. (I’ll look up who won what afterwards and watch the important parts on Youtube.)

So how does this relate to the Royal Wedding? Well, although I’m a huge romantic, in terms of the Royal Wedding, I really just care about the clothes. And I don’t care about the clothes enough to spend time in the weeks leading up to the wedding obsessing over what they will wear. And I also don’t care enough to wake up at 4:30 AM to watch it.

I can’t wait to see what everyone wears, and I’ll check it out around 10 AM, and I’ll probably blog about it around 2 PM, after I take my Understanding Media final. 

So, Prince William and Kate Middleton - best of luck, have a wonderful life, wear fabulous clothes. PS. Cute wedding portrait.
